So we headed to the coast for our first time as a family using our "new" camper. We were a bit skeptical only because the weather outlook was mid 60's and rain for all 3 days and not knowing what to expect of the campground....when pulling into the campground, Mark and I just smiled at each other, then blamed...then guilt. Our site was site 1....on a busy road over looking a smelly farm with cows that came right to the fence to entertain Reese! Our fire pit was so close to this metal fence dividing us from some guys house. Needless to say this is the first camping trip ever that my boys have actually had to walk to use the bathroom, usually we are so private and secluded we have trees to use. So much for trailer camping. We awoke Saturday to sun and warmth so we packed up the suburban and headed for the beach you can drive up on. It was wonderful....made the campsite all better. We spent all day for 8am-8pm on the sand. Had a fire right on the sand and did all of our cooking there. Getting back to no shower and a bit smelly made us all realize we need a shower...but that wasn't included in this camp site! So I felt a bit white trash as Tyler held a beach towel and I rinsed Reese in this not so private campsite since he gets sand in every crack....Saturday night it did start raining so we ended our night with some games inside. Yes, all of us including our smelly and sand filled Dakota. AH the love of small quarters! Sunday we awoke to a bit more rain so we decided to grab the rain gear and head up the coast and sight see, do some fishing and hike. As we pulled into the beach again to do hiking...it was pouring but that does not stop these boys from exploring. We had a great time and during our hike it got nice again to enjoy the beach. We had to pull the boys from the sand at nearly 6pm....by the time we headed back to camp it was calling for more rain that evening....but overall we had such a great time and the boys didn't even notice how bad the campground was....ok Nate did....but teens complain about everything:)

Gee, glad the fence did not fall in on Mark. Was the cow leaning on it. ha ha ha ha
So you are saying that Bryce and I should just stop searching for a trailer and enjoy the wonder of the private secluded tent sites? We will share our trees with your boys!! :)
